As Southern as moonlight and magnolias, I am
a native Georgian, who has lived in
metropolitan Atlanta since 1954 when I
attended Georgia State College.

Like most women of my generation I put aside
my career to marry and raise a family. Twenty
years later I went back to my writing, and
Bantam published my first romance in 1988. To
date I have forty-seven works, including novels,
novellas, short-story collections, and a
collective novel.

I write Historicals for Bantam and short
contemporary for Harlequin Temptation. I
started a small Southern press called BelleBooks
with five other veteran women authors. Our
launch book SWEET TEA & JESUS SHOES was
published in May 2000, and Berkley bought the
mass market sub-rights for its pretigious
